Starting an online business
So you finally made the decision of starting an online business. Either because you have heard how profitable the internet can be, you are looking for job freedom, you might need some extra cash or perhaps you might even have lost you job recently. Whatever your reason is, I have to tell you that you are not alone. Hundreds of people decide to do this every day around the world. And of course one of those people included me a couple years ago. It took me a while to consider myself successful in this subject( I don’t consider myself a guru by any means btw) but once I started enjoying the benefits of this business model I decided to share my bit of knowledge and make public some online business ideas for those of you that are just starting.
The word “affari” is Italian for “business”. Not that I am Italian descendant or anything like that, it’s just that I like how it sounds and also because the main reason for all this is for starting an online business and start making us some money right?. There are many angles that you could think of when you read or hear the phrase “online business”. You maybe already have an established brick and mortar business and want to start promoting it online. Maybe you want to start an online store and sell services or physical products that you create. In my case, I decided to get started with something called affiliate marketing. This basically means that you send potential buyers to merchants and once they complete a purchase you get paid a commission out of the final sale.
Okay, enough fluff here. I am going to go through what I basically did when I decided starting an online business. It will be a very basic sketch of what to do in case you are a complete newbie and don’t have any clue on where to begin.
Something you should know about starting an online business with a website
The first thing I will tell you is that you will not become a millionaire overnight like some might make it sound. It takes time and quality work from your end to start seeing results. I went through lots of bumps and bruises in order to find out what I was doing. I pretty much burned a couple grand before realizing I was not heading on the right direction. But that’s why I am here for, to prevent you from making the mistakes I made.
The principle of what were are going to do will be creating a website with some kind of information and then place targeted ads so customers either buy products or perform some kind of action like just clicking on them or filling out forms and stuff like that. And for this matter we will get rewarded with money from the vendors, which is the main purpose here right!?
Hands on then, the first thing will be to choose a niche, which is the term used to describe our topic. When starting an online business of this nature it helps to start working with something you already like doing or perhaps something that you have some level of expertise thus making it easier develop and write about it.
From now on I will be writing a series of blog posts on a weekly basis so it is easy for you to follow the steps.
